The Kongtiki Room is calling you!
It's about mystery and enchantment. It's about fun with friends in a setting that transports you
to another time and place. It's about 8' x 10.'
Time was everybody had a tiki bar in their home, tucked away in their basement or out on the back
porch or what have you, even here in the Great American Midwest. At the end of the work day, our grandfathers returned
home from their black and white world of punchcards and mimeographs to an intoxicating eruption of colorful sites and sounds.
In the comfort of their own homes, they could at last be the mighty chieftans of entertainment and high priests of mixology they
longed to be, their women exotic and mysterious as any dark-eyed Polynesian maiden.
Today, the Kongtiki Room is our little continuing piece of that dream. We're proud to uphold this
classic tradition and to do our part to help reignite the spark of the suburban savage.
The Kongtiki Room's Guest of the Month

December 2001
Following the warm, glowing light of the Kongtiki Room from afar to make their
first exciting visit to our little happy inn, Chris and Julie joined us in December for our
traditional holiday gathering. Although parents to three of the best little boys in the world,
this dynamic Downers Grove-based duo still enjoyed a night away from home and the cozy cocktail
comforts of the Kongtiki Room shared 'round the video fireplace with good friends.
